New York is launching an Industrial Hemp Initiative. The program is taking place with the assistance of Cornell University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences & SUNY Morrisville. This will be a coalition effort to advance hemp research. While it’s similar to programs in other states, this marks a concerted effort on New York’s part to boost hemp into the mainstream. New York’s hemp plans
Governor Cuomo also introduced legislation to establish hemp as an agricultural commodity in the state of New York. By allocating 2,000 prime acres of farmland to develop industrial hemp, Governor Cuomo is saying that hemp is a priority for New York. Will other states soon follow suit?
